If you are suffering with lower back pain that radiates along a path through your hip down your leg, you may benefit from the sciatic prednisone online treatment protocol that we are utilizing here at Greenwich Kinetics.
Pain in the back and buttocks which radiates into the thigh and leg is often diagnosed as sciatica. Sciatica refers to irritation along the path of the sciatic nerve, which is the largest nerve in the body. It branches off the lower levels of the spinal cord, exits the spinal column, travels through the pelvis and buttocks down each leg to the toes. Sciatica can occur in one or both legs and, in addition to causing stabbing pain, can also result in tingling, burning, numbness, or weakness in the thigh, hip, leg and foot.
Compression on the sciatic nerve has numerous possible causes. The most common cause is facet syndrome, followed by
slipped and degenerative or arthritic discs. Patients with these conditions, as well as spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, and dural adhesions are potential candidates for non-invasive treatment of sciatic pain.
Over the past decade, Dr. Buonanno has been treating sciatica cases utilizing a specialized flexion distraction treatment protocol, providing fast relief to most patients.
Flexion distraction is a non-invasive treatment, performed on a motorized traction table. As the doctor simultaneously mobilizes the spinal segments with gentle manual therapy, traction is applied, reducing compression and creating more clearance for the nerves.
Our treatment protocol is individualized to each patient’s needs. Treatment often includes cold laser, electro-acupuncture, and nutritional supplements to naturally reduce inflammation as an alternative to pain medications.
Many sufferers will resort to over-the-counter pain relievers, but sciatica pain can persist for weeks and even months. Using many of these medications for more than ten days is cautioned against and can pose gastrointestinal and cardiac risks.

Flexion distraction produces precise movements of the involved joints. This traction-type motion creates negative pressure on the discs and facet joints. Reducing pressure increases clearance between pinching structures. By gently separating and opening facet joints or creating inward suction on slipping or bulging discs, sciatic nerve pressure and irritation reduces.
The mechanism of the non-invasive protocol of flexion distraction combined with circumduction of the spinal segments creates a gentle pumping action that reduces intradiscal pressure, restores normal function to facet joints and reduces ligamentous adhesions. The goal is not only pain relief, but to rehabilitate the structure in order to reduce the frequency and duration of pain attacks and prevent future flare-ups.
Flexion distraction technique is a proven effective modality treating the spectrum of spinal disorders associated with sciatica. The treatment often delivers a significant degree of pain relief, along with actual structural correction relatively swiftly, depending on the duration and severity of the condition.
Most patients report immediate improvement with this treatment as compared to prior courses of care with ibuprophen and other NSAIDs, steroid dose packs, spinal epidural steroid injections, and/or physical therapy.
If sciatica has you debilitated, you should consider exploring this safe, conservative, drug-free treatment protocol.

If you already have an MRI, call our office to schedule a free review of your MRI report at our Greenwich Kinetics office.
Our MRI review is an informational review of the MRI report that you provide to us and is not a form of diagnosis. A diagnosis
and a final determination of whether you may benefit from treatment at Greenwich Kinetics can only be made after you have been physically examined by the doctor. The MRI review has no value and will not be billed.
